Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  • Use your domain URL with cPanel (e.g. yourdomain.com/cpanel)

  • Enter your username and password


Step 2: Open Softaculous Apps Installer

  • Scroll down to the "Software" section

  • Click on "Softaculous Apps Installer"


Step 3: Go to 'Installations'

  • In Softaculous, click the "All Installations" icon (box with a stacked page icon) in the top right corner
    Or click “Installations” from the left sidebar.


Step 4: Find Your WordPress Site

  • You'll see a list of all apps installed through Softaculous

  • Locate your WordPress installation


Step 5: Click the Backup Icon

  • On the right side of your WordPress row, click the backup icon (a small box with an arrow or a floppy disk symbol)


Step 6: Configure Backup Options

  • You will see:

    • Backup Directory: Check this to include your WordPress files

    • Backup Database: Check this to include your database

  • Keep both options selected for a full backup


Step 7: Start the Backup

  • Click “Backup Installation”

  • Wait as Softaculous creates the backup (this may take a few minutes)


Step 8: Backup Complete

  • A message will appear when the backup is done

  • You can now find your backup under:

    • Softaculous > Backups tab

    • You can download, restore, or delete it from here

It's good practice to download backups regularly to your computer or external drive, especially before making major changes or updates.
