✅ How to Change WordPress Password or Username via cPanel

Option 1: Using phpMyAdmin (Database Method)

Change Password:

1. Login to cPanel.

2. Go to phpMyAdmin.

3. Select your WordPress database from the left sidebar.

4. Click the wp_users table.

5. Click Edit next to the user you want.

6. In the user_pass field:

   • Change function to MD5.

   • Type your new password.

7. Click Go to save.

Change Username:

1. In the same wp_users table, click Edit next to the user.

2. Change the user_login value to your new username.

3. Click Go.

Option 2: Using Softaculous / WordPress Manager by cPanel

This is the easiest method for beginners if Softaculous is available in your cPanel.

Steps:

1. Login to cPanel.

2. Scroll down to the Softaculous Apps Installer section or WordPress Manager by cPanel.

3. Click on WordPress.

4. You’ll see a list of installed WordPress sites.

5. Find your site and click the Edit / pencil icon.

6. Scroll to Admin Account section.

7. Change the Admin Username or Admin Password as needed.

8. Click Save Installation Details or Save Changes.

✅ Done! You can now log in to WordPress with your new credentials.

⚠️ Notes:

• If you're locked out of WordPress, Softaculous is a quick recovery tool.

• Changing usernames via dashboard is not allowed in WordPress, so database or Softaculous methods are best.
