How to Create a Subdomain in cPanel

Log in to cPanel
- Access your cPanel dashboard.

Go to the Domains Section
- Click on Domains from the main dashboard (not Subdomains, as in older versions).

Create a New Domain
- In the Domains interface, click on Create a New Domain.
- Enter the full subdomain name (e.g.,
subdomain.example.com
) in the field provided.

Specify the Document Root
- By default, cPanel will auto-generate a document root for the subdomain (e.g.,
/home/user/subdomain.example.com
). You can leave it as is or customize it to a different folder.

Submit
- Click Submit or Create Domain to finalize.

Verify the Subdomain
- After creating the subdomain, you'll see it listed in the Domains interface. You can manage it or access its document root via the File Manager.
Important Notes
- Access the Subdomain: Once created, you can visit your subdomain (e.g.,
https://subdomain.example.com
) if DNS propagation has been completed. - SSL Certificate: Use AutoSSL in cPanel to secure the subdomain with an SSL certificate.
