A Record vs Subdomain (Simple Explanation):
An A Record is used when you want to point a subdomain (like server1.yourdomain.com) to an external server using an IP address, meaning the service is hosted outside your current cPanel account. On the other hand, a Subdomain created inside cPanel is used when you want to host content within the same hosting account, and it automatically creates its own folder (directory) for that subdomain. In short, use an A Record for external servers, and use a Subdomain when working inside your cPanel hosting environment.
Example:
server1.netpoa.com → 192.168.1.10server2.netpoa.com → 192.168.1.11
If you want to create subdomains like server1.yourdomain.com, server2.yourdomain.com, etc., this guide will help you do it through cPanel or Netpoa DNS Management.
Option 1: Using cPanel (Zone Editor)
Step 1: Login to cPanel
- Access your hosting control panel (cPanel)
- Click Zone Editor
Step 2: Add an A Record
Click “+ Add Record” or “Manage”, then fill in:
- Name:
server1 - Type: A
- Address: Your server IP (e.g.
162.55.xxx.xxx) - TTL: Leave default
Click Save Record
Step 3: Add More Records
Repeat the same steps for:
server2server3- etc.
Option 2: Using Netpoa DNS Management
Step 1: Login to Your Account

- Click DNS Management
Step 2: Create A Records
Add records like this:
